Insyde® Software Announces First Commercial OpenBMC Firmware Product for ASPEED’s AST2700 Series BMC

Supervyse® OPF OpenBMC Firmware Capitalizes on New Chip’s Enhanced Speed, Security, Dual-Node Support and More

COMPUTEX TAIPEI – June 5th, 2024 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and OpenBMC-based systems management firmware, today announced the availability of its Supervyse OPF® OpenBMC-based firmware solution for ASPEED’s AST2700 Series baseboard management controller (BMC), announced earlier this week at Computex Taipei.

Supervyse OPF provides a true, standards-based OpenBMC-based solution supporting the latest Intel®, AMD® and NVIDIA® server platforms, and includes a robust set of features such as Redfish, RAS, PFR (Platform Firmware Resiliency) and more. With its modern, non-proprietary architecture, Supervyse OPF is designed to evolve with the ongoing changes to the industry-standard OpenBMC project.

The AST2700 delivers enhanced performance, capabilities and hardened security features over its predecessor through its Quad-core ARM Cortex A35 processor, dual node support, faster bus interfaces, RISC-V based secure boot processor and much more. Combined with Supervyse OPF’s comprehensive platform feature support and firmware optimizations including enhanced boot speed, system designers can fully leverage the new chip’s capabilities to meet the ever-increasing demands and evolving requirements of datacenter, enterprise, and accelerated computing applications.

“Today’s launch of Supervyse OPF continues our tradition of timely support for new ASPEED BMCs” said Jonathan Joseph, Chief Operating Officer at Insyde Software.  “This joint solution provides the industry’s next preeminent BMC chip with the only true OpenBMC solution available from a third party vendor on the market today,” added Joseph.

“We greatly appreciate having Insyde Software’s early support for our new 8th generation BMC,” said Luke Chen, Vice President of Sales at ASPEED. “We know that our mutual customers will immediately benefit from the quality of this joint solution to bring next-generation BMC performance and security to the server industry,” added Chen.
