Insyde® Software to Accelerate 5G-Enabled Snapdragon Notebook Ecosystem In Collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies

Insyde’s Expertise in Enabling Firmware Expands to Include Snapdragon® Compute Platforms

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – November 16, 2021 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI and systems management (BMC) firmware, today announced a collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. aimed to help accelerate development of 5G notebook designs powered by the Snapdragon® 8cx 5G Compute Platforms.

The Snapdragon 8cx 5G Compute Platforms have powered multiple generations of powerful, efficient, security-rich, and ultraportable PCs that modernize how people connect, compute and communicate, by offering support for incredible multi-day battery life, multi-gigabit connectivity, enterprise-grade security, AI acceleration and more.

Today’s announcement builds on Insyde’s experience in helping customers design, develop and produce PCs. Insyde Software’s collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies was key in helping deliver notebooks powered by Snapdragon 8cx 5G Gen 1 and Gen 2 Compute Platforms. The integration services and features Insyde provides to customers include assistance in adapting traditional x86 production processes for ARM-based platforms, adopting a Setup utility, flexible initialization of peripheral devices, and a custom BIOS interface for external component communication.
