Insyde Software to Provide a Wide Range of Solutions from Consulting Services
to Complete Android Implementations on Intel® Atom™ Processor-based Devices

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM – SAN FRANCISCO, SEPTEMBER 9, 2014 – Insyde Software, a leading provider of Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) BIOS and x86 Android software distributions today announced that it is working with the Intel® Internet of Things (IoT) Group to provide consulting services, hardware bring-up, custom development, validation and mass production support of Android on Intel® Atom™ processor Z3735F/G platforms.

Already widely used across a wide range of mobile devices, Android is quickly making inroads as a preferred operating system for connected, intelligent systems. The Android development services offered by Insyde Software can help Intel® Atom™ processor Z3735F/G systems builders quickly deploy Android for embedded devices ranging from retail point-of-sale systems, to industrial ruggedized tablets to medical devices.

“We have a long heritage in helping mobile device makers ship Android on X86, dating back to Android 1.5 on netbooks,” said Steve Chen, VP of Android Engineering at Insyde Software. “We are prepared to offer everything ranging from start-up consulting services to fully customized Android distributions.”

“As Android continues to gain traction as a popular operating system in the Internet of Things ecosystem, it’s important to make deploying Android for embedded devices as simple as possible for systems builders,” said Mike Carboni, director, Software Development, Product Enabling & Development for the Intel Internet of Things Group. “The combination of technology and support from Insyde Software and the Intel® Atom™ processor Z3735F/G will help make that goal a reality.”

Through its unique position as both a UEFI BIOS and x86 Android distribution provider, Insyde Software is able to provide systems makers a single point of contact to help enable their new designs with firmware, ported Android, customization, and an array of optimized features.

Insyde Software, an Affiliate member of the Intel Internet of Things Solutions Alliance, will be providing more details on this newly launched resource at its booth (#759) during the 2014 Intel Developer Forum, occurring September 9th – 11th in San Francisco, CA.
