Insyde® Software Expands Application Development Expertise

Focused Effort & Investment Opens New Market Opportunities While Complementing Existing Firmware Business
Innovative Apps Integrate Intel® RealSense™ Technology

COMPUTEX - TAIPEI, TAIWAN – JUNE 4, 2015 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) BIOS and Android™ system-level software, today announced an expansion of its Application Development personnel, investment, product offerings and strategies, resulting in expanded market opportunities and enhancements to its existing BIOS and systems management businesses.

Coming on the heels of Insyde Software’s announcement last month at the Intel Developer Forum in Shenzhen, China of its new ShareKanTan™ mobile device application, the company will continue to grow in this direction, offering new applications, added capabilities to its Humanos® Android-for-x86 operating system, custom application development and new tools and utilities for its existing firmware customers.

In addition to ShareKanTan, which consolidates keyboard and mouse input into an intuitive touch interface to fully control computers running Windows® or Android, the company is also working on innovative applications for the retail and educational markets. InsydeH2O® UEFI firmware customers can expect to see the results of this investment in new and enhanced BIOS tools and firmware related utilities.

ShareKanTan is designed to empower users to take advantage of the latest compact computers, where traditional physical keyboards and mice are not convenient or practical. Mini PCs, Smart TVs and Compute Stick form factors all make it easier than ever to enable new computing usage models. Smartphones are the natural and most readily available devices to replace the keyboard and mouse in these scenarios. ShareKanTan easily pairs a smartphone to the other computer, offering a more fully capable and common set of input devices such as touch, smart gestures and keyboard control.

ShareKanTan also integrates Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera functions to emulate the TV remote controller. With Intel RealSense technology, users can control their TV by gestures such as waving up and down to switch channels or to page through web pages on a PC with similar gestures.

“In our initial Apps offerings, we’ve seen significant interest from many our existing customers,” said Andy Wang, Product Marketing Manager, at Insyde Software. “But we are also finding that our innovative applications are taking us into new markets and opening new opportunities,” added Wang.

Insyde will be providing details on its expanded application development efforts during the Computex Taipei trade show, June 2-5, 2015 Grand Hyatt Hotel, Suite 1027 (10th floor) in Taipei, Taiwan.
