Insyde® Software Helps Power Amazon Web Services’ Groundbreaking Deep Learning Camera

AWS DeepLens™ Delivers Machine Learning Innovation Leveraging InsydeH2O®

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – DECEMBER 21, 2017 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and systems management software, announced today that its flagship UEFI firmware, InsydeH2O®, is enabling the recently launched AWS DeepLens, the world’s first deep learning enabled video camera for developers.

The AWS DeepLens is an HD camera that features on-board edge computing capabilities optimized for deep learning, a technique that uses neural networks to both learn and make predictions through computer vision projects, tutorials, and hands-on exploration with a physical device. With over 100 GFLOPS of compute power, AWS DeepLens can process deep learning predictions on HD video in real time, allowing developers to run deep learning models locally on the camera to examine and take action.

As a trusted leader in enabling innovative and secure connected devices, Insyde Software was selected by Amazon Web Services’ ODM to aid in the development of this groundbreaking camera. By leveraging InsydeH2O’s robust platform security support for Intel system-on-chip processors, Insyde delivered the critical firmware necessary to harden the device and meet strict platform security requirements.
