COMPUTEX - TAIPEI, TAIWAN - June 5, 2018 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and systems management software, today announced a new and unique software application that provides a cost-effective Windows logon solution as well as a simple-to-use password management solution. Sold to PC manufacturers as a pre-loaded application, PassKanTan® makes a user’s mobile phone a form of authentication for unlocking Windows PCs over a secure Bluetooth connection.
Unlike other Windows logon products, even those offered by Microsoft, PassKanTan can be used on notebook, desktop and all-in-one computers that don’t have expensive biometric peripherals, such as fingerprint readers or facial recognition cameras built in. Leveraging a user’s mobile phone that’s in proximity to the computer, multiple methods of logon are available including password, pin code, gesturing or if the mobile phone supports them; fingerprint and facial recognition.
PassKanTan turns smart phones into a modern safety deposit box by storing and encrypting passwords, personal credentials, or other secrets in a secure database. By leveraging the mobile phone’s built-in biometrics, users have a quick and safe way to retrieve and apply passwords. Packaged together with its advanced login capabilities, PassKanTan presents a unique and compelling solution that adds to convenience and enhances user security.
At Computex, which takes place from June 5-8, 2018, Insyde Software will be celebrating both its 20-year anniversary and new corporate identity unveiling new product innovations, including PassKanTan demonstrations.
