Insyde™ Software’s Latest Generation of Dual-OS Switching Technology
Now Shipping on Intel® Cherry Trail Tablets

3rd Generation InsydeQ2S™ “Quick-to-Switch” Technology Enables
Fast OS Switching Between Windows® and Android™

Intel Developer Forum – Shenzhen China, April 13, 2016 – Insyde™ Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and Android™ system-level software, today announced that its InsydeQ2S “Quick-to-Switch” technology is shipping on Cherry Trail-based Windows and Android tablets produced by Intel CTE (China Technology Ecosystem) customers.

Starting in 2014, CTE customers have shipped Bay Trail-Entry-based tablets and Broadwell Y-based 2-in-1 devices with InsydeQ2S technology. By continuing close collaboration with Intel CTE customers in 2016, Insyde has successfully enabled CTE customers to ship this latest generation of InsydeQ2S technology on new tablet designs running Windows 10 and Android 5.1.

InsydeQ2S allows a single BIOS image to boot and run native Windows and Android operating systems on the same hardware. By clicking a single software icon on the Windows or Android desktop, users can quickly switch between the two operating systems. There is no special hardware required and complete system resources are available to the currently running OS.

“Today’s announcement is further proof of the cutting-edge support and technology benefits our CTE customers gain by working with Insyde,” said Aven Chuang, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Personal Computing Group at Insyde Software. “Our ability to quickly enable and deploy UEFI BIOS and technology such as Dual-OS switching on the latest Intel platform designs is critically important to our customers,” added Chuang.

As a leading provider of UEFI BIOS to OEMs and ODMs, Insyde supports all of the key features and technologies required for Windows and Android tablets based on the Intel “Cherry Trail” SoC, including UEFI Secure Boot, TXE Secure Boot, FOTA, 2M SPI + eMMC BIOS split solution, and much more. By leveraging InsydeH2O’s modular architecture, Intel CTE customers have easily applied customizations to build-in their unique product differentiation.

Insyde Software will be showing demonstrations of this technology at its booth #527 during the Intel Developer Forum, occurring April 13-14, 2016 in Shenzhen, China.
