This tutorial explores BIOS development challenges in embedded systems and how “The Framework” (Intel® Platform Innovation Framework for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) helps overcome those challenges. Access to the webcast is available at: BIOSChallenges.

As embedded systems have become more PC-like than ever before, BIOS firmware development challenges have intensified. Three specific BIOS challenges that create perplexing problems – leading to missed deadlines, poor quality, budget overruns, and general emotional distress – are in the areas of: thermal management, firmware application development and board debugging. It is these three challenges that are discussed in this tutorial webcast.
