Insyde® Software and SiPearl to Present on European-designed Data Center Technologies at the OCP EMEA Summit 2025

The HIGHER Project will Develop Europe’s First Data Center-ready Processors and Management Modules Leveraging OCP Standards

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – April 23, 2025 – Insyde Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and OpenBMC-based systems management software, today announced that it will be presenting with SiPearl, a designer of European high-performance energy-efficient processors for supercomputing and AI, at the Open Compute Project (OCP) EMEA Summit 2025, taking place next week in Dublin, Ireland.

The presentation, titled “Introducing the HIGHER Project: A European Data Center-ready Technologies Approach to True Hardware Modularity Leveraging OCP Standards,” will be presented by Tim Lewis, CTO at Insyde Software and Vincent Casillas, VP of Software & Systems R&D at SiPearl on Wednesday, April 30th. They will discuss how this initiative will deliver the first all-European datacenter-ready processor and management modules for cloud and edge infrastructures, built using European technologies and adhering to OCP specifications.

SiPearl will present its role in developing the European-designed Arm-based processor technology essential to the project. Insyde Software will detail the crucial system firmware layer that enables practical hardware modularity, including securely booting and managing hardware, accessing peripherals, and providing the execution environment for cloud and edge applications and services.

“We are proud to work with SiPearl on the HIGHER project and helping them achieve significant advances in sovereignty for European data center technologies,” said Tim Lewis, CTO at Insyde Software. “Our industry-standards focused InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS and Supervyse® OpenBMC are specially designed to address the complex challenges of true hardware interoperability that the modular approach of this project demands,” added Lewis.

“Insyde Software’s expertise has been valuable in helping us ensure that our hardware delivers the efficient computing performance needed for next-generation European cloud infrastructure,” said Vincent Casillas, VP of Software & Systems R&D at SiPearl. “Their flexible and secure firmware is essential for enabling the seamless interoperability and modularity that define the HIGHER project’s vision for the future of European data centers,” added Casillas.

Directly following the presentation, Insyde Software and SiPearl will both join a panel discussion at 2:00PM along with HPE, 2CSRI and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden to further discuss RISC Architecture, the HIGHER project, and its place within open hardware advancements and sustainability in IT infrastructure.
