Insyde® Software Joins Arm Total Design for Physical AI as Day-One Partner
Ecosystem Fosters Industry Collaboration to Accelerate Physical AI Solutions, Bridging Digital Intelligence with Real-World Machinery

SHANGHAI, CHINA and WESTBOROUGH, MA, USA – September 8, 2026 – Insyde® Software, the leading independent firmware vendor today announced its day-one participation in Arm® Total Design for Physical AI, an ecosystem of expertise across the physical AI technology stack aimed at reducing integration complexity and accelerating autonomous system development on Arm. Insyde delivers production boot and platform firmware for designs based on Arm Zena™ Compute Subsystems (CSS).
Arm Zena CSS is a pre-integrated compute subsystem for high-performance physical AI SoCs, built to shorten platform development for autonomous vehicles and robotics. Insyde Software, which is also a member of Arm Total Design for Cloud AI, brings that firmware up on Arm virtual platform models, so software and silicon work can proceed in parallel rather than in sequence.
At today’s Arm Everywhere Event in Shanghai, Arm named Insyde Software among the day-one partners in the new ecosystem, highlighting its firmware contributions, including:
- An efficient entry for early-stage silicon programs
- Full support for Arm virtual platforms and simulation models
- Pre-silicon boot firmware bring-up and debugging
“We’re excited to leverage our firmware leadership in Arm Total Design for Physical AI,” said Tim Lewis, CTO, Insyde Software. “Getting full-featured, standards-based firmware like InsydeH2O® running before hardware is available is how we help customers shift-left timelines, allowing them to focus on real product differentiation.”
“Scaling physical AI from design to production requires close collaboration across the hardware and software ecosystem,” said Dermot O’Driscoll, vice president of go-to-market, Physical AI, Arm. “Insyde’s firmware expertise strengthens the Arm Total Design for Physical AI ecosystem by helping partners start development earlier and move differentiated solutions to production faster.”
