Insyde® Software Launches TapRUUT™: A Foundational Platform Root of Trust for AI PCs, AI Servers and Next-Gen Data Centers
New Product Family Delivers Full NIST SP 800-193 Compliance and Alignment with Future Open Firmware Initiatives

HILLSBORO, OR and TAIPEI, TAIWAN — March 30, 2026 — Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI and OpenBMC-based firmware, today announced the launch of TapRUUT™. TapRUUT is a production-ready Platform Root of Trust (PRoT) product family designed to deliver robust, standards-aligned firmware resilience for modern PC, server and data center platforms.
Built on decades of Insyde’s firmware expertise, TapRUUT provides full NIST SP 800-193 compliance for Intel®, AMD™, NVIDIA®, and other Arm-based PC/server platforms. As the industry shifts toward heterogeneous computing, TapRUUT enables OEMs, ODMs, and hyperscale operators to deploy a consistent security model across diverse platforms while reducing the integration complexity of secure deployments at scale.
At launch, the TapRUUT family supports a broad range of leading PRoT hardware implementations, including:
- ASPEED Technology: AST1060 and AST1080
- Infineon: Semper™ Secure NOR Flash
- Intel: MAX10
- Microchip Technology: CEC1736 and MEC1723
The platform delivers mission-critical capabilities including secure firmware update and recovery, CPLD online updates, cryptographic services and post-quantum cryptography on the ASPEED AST1080, enhanced device attestation, and support for SPDM 1.1 and 1.2.
“TapRUUT delivers comprehensive Platform Root of Trust capabilities that integrate seamlessly across OpenBMC and UEFI environments,” said Jonathan Joseph, Chief Operating Officer at Insyde Software. “This launch reflects Insyde’s commitment to open, interoperable platform security that scales with the needs of the modern data center.”
TapRUUT integrates seamlessly with InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS and Supervyse® OPF (Insyde’s OpenBMC solution), while providing full support for customers’ proprietary OpenBMC implementations. This creates a cohesive, end-to-end security architecture spanning boot firmware, management firmware, and root-of-trust hardware.
Looking forward, a future integration of the OpenPROT stack into TapRUUT will be aligned with the CHIPS Alliance-driven OpenPRoT initiative. Insyde’s active involvement in the OpenPRoT project—alongside industry leaders like AMD, Google, Intel, and Nuvoton—ensures that TapRUUT remains at the forefront of standardized, reusable firmware security.
“Standardized approaches to platform Root of Trust are critical to improving security, reuse, and interoperability across the data center ecosystem. Contributions from firmware leaders like Insyde help ensure that OpenPRoT reflects real-world deployment requirements and accelerates adoption across the industry.”
— Hugo Romero, Vice President – Product Security Office, AMD
“Platform Root of Trust is foundational to secure server design, and firmware plays a critical role in fully realizing the security capabilities of PRoT silicon. Insyde’s TapRUUT platform demonstrates how mature, standards-aligned firmware enables OEMs and ODMs to deploy ASPEED-based Root of Trust solutions with confidence and consistency across platforms.”
— Charles Kuan, Vice President of Sales, ASPEED Technology
“A strong Root of Trust for data center applications and communications infrastructure requires seamless integration between secure hardware and platform firmware. The TapRUUT platform applies Insyde’s firmware expertise to leverage advanced security features in Infineon’s SEMPER™ Secure NOR flash memories, together with the SEMPER™ SDK, enabling resilient and trustworthy server platforms at scale.”
— Sandeep Krishnegowda, Vice President and General Manager, Memory Product Line, Infineon Technologies
“Platform security requirements are evolving to address new threats, and firmware providers are key to enabling capabilities that will protect users. Solutions like Insyde’s TapRUUT solution to help address platform Root of Trust needs by delivering production-ready firmware compatible with the Intel Xeon platform that’s aligned with NIST SP 800-193 and emerging industry standards.”
— William Clark, Sr. Director, Firmware Enabling, Intel Data Center Group (DCG)
“Secure boot, firmware recovery, and device attestation depend on robust integration of expertly engineered firmware with secure capabilities rooted in silicon. Insyde’s TapRUUT Platform Root of Trust complements Microchip’s secure controllers by enabling scalable, standards-based implementations that simplify adoption by customers.”
— Nuri Dagdeviren, corporate vice president of Microchip’s secure computing group.
