Insyde Software Powers Intel® Project Firefly Designs with Production-Ready UEFI Firmware

InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS Helps Leading PC Brands Accelerate Development of Premium Mainstream Intel® Core™ Series 3 Notebooks

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – July 14, 2026 – Insyde® Software today announced that Acer, Dell, HP, Honor, Lenovo, and MSI are shipping Intel® Core™ Series 3 notebooks powered by InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS, developed through the Intel® Project Firefly platform design initiative. These systems deliver premium notebook experiences—including thin-and-light designs, longer battery life, modern connectivity, and entry-level AI capabilities—for mainstream consumer, education, and small-business markets.

Project Firefly is Intel’s platform initiative for accelerating development of premium mainstream notebooks through validated reference designs and standardized platform building blocks. By reducing engineering complexity and enabling greater design reuse, the initiative helps PC customers bring differentiated systems to market more quickly.

From the earliest stages of Project Firefly, Insyde collaborated closely with Intel and key PC makers to ensure InsydeH2O UEFI BIOS was fully optimized and production-ready for Intel Core Series 3 platforms, helping customers accelerate platform bring-up, reduce integration effort, and shorten time-to-market. Insyde also demonstrated this readiness at the Project Firefly Workshop in Shanghai, showcasing InsydeH2O to PC customers and ecosystem partners.

InsydeH2O for Intel Core Series 3 includes BIOS Graphical Setup, WMI-based manageability, Windows Secured-core PC compliance, and an extensible library of OEM-customizable feature modules. Together, these capabilities give customers a flexible, production-ready firmware platform that speeds development while enabling system differentiation.

“By working alongside Intel and our PC customers from the earliest stages, we delivered a production-ready firmware foundation that reduced integration effort and gave customers more time to focus on building differentiated products,” said Alan Lo, VP of the PC Business Group at Insyde Software. “Project Firefly is proof of what early firmware readiness makes possible—and we’re committed to bringing that same approach to every new Intel platform.”
