The Framework Laptop Leverages InsydeH2O® to Achieve a Unique, Powerful, Customizable and Repairable Design
TAIPEI, TAIWAN – August 9, 2021 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and BMC management firmware, announced today that its flagship firmware, InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS, is booting and enabling the Framework™ laptop, a lightweight productivity laptop designed with modular components that can be assembled, upgraded, customized and repaired by consumers.
The Framework Laptop takes full advantage of InsydeH2O’s platform readiness and comprehensive features support to help enable the latest 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and fast Gen4 NVMe storage on Windows 10 and Linux. Insyde’s flexible firmware enables the Framework Expansion Card System, a modular system of 4 bays that allows users to choose among available expansion cards including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, DisplayPort, MicroSD and more. Additionally, platform manageability is enabled with support for Intel AMT (Active Management Technology) and Framework’s platform security is hardened through InsydeH2O’s support for the latest security features that include Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, Intel Boot Guard and Intel TXT.
