- Silicon-Native Root of Trust for OpenBMC: Integrating AST2700 iRoT into Open Data Center Firmware

As AI data center security requirements intensify, the industry is moving beyond discrete external Root-of-Trust chips toward silicon-native integrated RoT — eliminating attack surfaces, reducing BOM cost, and enabling stronger chain-of-trust guarantees. ASPEED’s AST2700 delivers this: a SoC-native iRoT built on the Caliptra open-source RoT specification, with hardware-enforced DICE identity, PUF-based key storage, Anti-Rollback (SVN) protection, and Post-Quantum Crypto readiness. Insyde Software has integrated this architecture into Supervyse OPF on OpenBMC, replacing discrete eRoT hardware with a single-chip trusted execution environment. This session presents the joint reference architecture: how AST2700 iRoT anchors the full BMC firmware stack — from immutable SoC ROM through Caliptra, U-Boot, and OS — and how OpenBMC exposes attestation state through standard Redfish APIs, supporting OCP DC-SCM and Platform Firmware Resiliency objectives.

- From Hyperscaler Requirements to Open Standards: Delivering AI Fabric RAS Through COSMOS and OpenBMC
- AI scale-up fabrics require deep visibility into PCIe switch and retimer health, but critical RAS data is often fragmented across vendor-specific tools. Astera Labs has worked closely with hyperscalers to develop OCP-aligned RAS features and, through COSMOS, ensures consistent implementation across its smart connectivity portfolio. Together with Insyde, Astera Labs will demonstrate the COSMOS Rack-Scale Connectivity software model integrated with OpenBMC, exposing fabric health and SerDes-level telemetry through DMTF Redfish APIs. COSMOS SDKs provide uniform access to RAS features for BMC software, simplifying integration and enabling telemetry such as per-lane eye height, BER, DFE tap values, link state, error counters, and LTSSM logs. This session shows how open firmware and smart fabric silicon can standardize RAS access through Redfish, improving interoperability, accelerating root-cause analysis, and supporting the OCP mission of open, scalable data center infrastructure. \
